How to get there: Morgenlicht guesthouse for groups
The access to Barra Alegre is paved and 500 meters later, our local road begins, with 4.5 km of dirt road with free access all year round. There are signs on the dirt road.
From Rio de Janeiro to Morgenlicht, by car, it is a 3 and a half hour trip and the route is 190 km.
Our geographic location is longitude 42º 17’ 086’’ West and latitude 22º 15’ 43’’ South.
The Farm and Morgenlicht can be seen in high definition with the Google Earth program.
"We ask that you do not use GPS or Google Maps as your main reference to get to Morgenlicht and instead use the Directions Guide.”
Itinerary
• Go from Rio to Nova Friburgo, via Rio-Teresópolis, exiting at Parada Modelo/Guapimirim and heading towards Cachoeiras de Macacu.
• Go up the mountain and cross the city of Nova Friburgo, with the river on your left, and head towards Bom Jardim, also indicating Cordeiro and Cantagalo.
• At the entrance to Bom Jardim, pay attention and look for the Auto Posto Lopes on the corner. Do not cross the large bridge over Rio Grande, turn right after a speed bump, on a wide avenue. Continue on the paved road, RJ 146.
• Drive 3 km, cross Alto de São José with several speed bumps and then, at the entrance to São José do Ribeirão, turn left towards Barra Alegre, on a paved road, continuing on RJ 146.
• Drive 12 km and pass the gas station and the police station. Barra Alegre is at Km 19.
• Drive past Barra Alegre on the asphalt and just after Km 20, take the first large entrance on the right, paved, with a garden (lit at night). As a reference, there is the first sign indicating Morgenlicht. There is also a large sign for Arena Solo Sagrado.
• Follow the paved road and before entering the warehouses of Fazenda Jorge Tardin, at the corner of Casa do Leite, turn right onto a dirt road, with a Morgenlicht sign, and go up 3 km to Boa Vista, on a local road.
From now on, the road is marked with Morgenlicht signs.
• Cross the village of Boa Vista and go up 1 km, turning right, on a wide curve with a Morgenlicht sign.
• Continue and at the second gate on the left, with the sign Morgenlicht, enter and go up the concrete path, passing by the headquarters of Fazenda Cachoeiras.
